Friends of Washoe County School District:

The beginning of the school year is just around the corner, and we know everyone is busy. We are asking you to save the date for the "2013 Door To Door for Student Achievement" event on Saturday, September 28th. As part of our ongoing efforts to help Every Child, By Name and Face, To Graduation, the goal of this campaign is to support students who are at risk of dropping out of school before graduation. Your participation at last year's event helped make it a rousing success, and we are hoping you will again bring your passion for education to this year's event. I am challenging our community and our district to connect with 1,000 to 1,200 seniors and juniors with home visits.

This is an intense, ongoing effort by our entire district, and we're determined to support our students, but we can't do this alone. Once again we are collaborating with the community, parents, local business representatives, elected officials, and volunteers. Last year, we had 230 community volunteers help with the event. This year, we want to increase that number of volunteers to connect with even more students and families as we launch this effort to make a crucial difference in their lives and futures. Below is the form to register for Saturday, the 28th. We look forward to seeing you.
